Let Gratitude Fill Your Mind

[MIND] May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and as we head into Memorial Day weekend, it’s a good time to pause and remember: the only constant in life is change. While we can’t always control what happens around us, we can choose what happens in us, the perspective we bring to those changes. That’s where gratitude comes in. When we fill our minds and hearts with thankfulness, it naturally leaves less space for anything else.

Simple Gratitude Exercise:
At the end of each day, picture a moment connected to each below and give just one answer for each:

A Person
A Thing
A Feeling (yes, even the difficult ones)

Say them out loud.
And after each one:

Say "Thank you"
Smile big (even if it's initially forced)
Take one slow, deep breath.

The lesson here is to train ourselves to think positively. Not all negative experiences are inherently negative; in fact, it's usually our conditioned thinking and biases that color them in this way. This exercise helps us to develop a gratitude attitude for both the good and bad aspects of life. It broadens our thinking and challenges the subconscious.

A happy day to all!
