Let Gratitude Fill Your Mind

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and as we head into Memorial Day weekend, it’s a good time to pause and remember: the only constant in life is change. While we can’t always control what happens around us, we can choose the perspective we bring to those changes. That’s where gratitude comes in. When we fill our minds and hearts with thankfulness, it naturally leaves less space for anything else.

Simple Gratitude Exercise:
At the end of each day, reflect and name just one answer for each of the following:

A Person
A Thing
A Feeling (yes, even the difficult ones)

Picture a moment connected to each, then say them out loud. After each one:

Say "Thank you"
Smile big (even if it's initially forced)
Take one slow, deep breath.

The takeaway is to infuse our thoughts with positivity. Negative experiences aren’t always inherently bad; often, it’s our habitual thinking and biases that make them seem that way. This practice helps us nurture an attitude of gratitude toward both the positive and negative parts of life. In doing so, it expands our way of thinking and  challenges our subconscious.

A happy day to all!
