Milking Almonds

Most almond milk from the store only contains 2% almonds (There are NO Almonds in your almond milk) mixed with water, synthetic vitamins, sugar, and emulsifiers. If you've never milked your own almonds, you're in for a pure white, frothy, almondy treat. It's quick, easy and almond milk that actually tastes like almonds!

If you're anything like me, you might enjoy experimenting and adjusting the milk to your preference. Water can be increased or decreased depending on how thin or thick, or how almond- dominant, you would like your homemade milk to be. You can also blanch the almonds to decrease anti-nutrients.

Almond milk recipe

Soak about a 1/4-1/2 cup raw almonds overnight.
In the AM, add 2-4+ cups fresh water and blend.
Sweetener is optional.
Strain the milk through a cheesecloth or a nutmilk bag

Almonds are the most nutrient-dense tree nut. Loaded with calcium, vitamin E, and magnesium. Enjoy!
